What is Telehealth/Telemedicine?
Mental Health Solutions offers telehealth services to all clients (testing may not be available through telehealth).
Telehealth, teletherapy, telemedicine are all terms that describe an alternative to in-person sessions. But what is it? At it’s simplest, telehealth is the use of a personal computer, tablet, or phone to participate in a therapy or medication appointment. Many providers have chosen to use less than secure platforms (zoom, facetime, google) to conduct telehealth services, but not us!. At Mental Health Solutions we use a HIPAA compliant video platform. With this secure platform you can rest assured that your sessions and information will remain confidential and protected.
Benefits of telehealth
Although virtual visits may not be as common as traditional in person appointments, there are many benefits that explain why this type of care is growing in popularity.
Limiting physical contact reduces everyone’s exposure to illness
Visiting virtually can address health issues wherever patients are, even from the comfort of home
Staying put cuts down on commuting, travel in bad weather, time off from work, and need for child care
Using virtual health care tools can shorten wait times to see a provider and expand the range of access to specialists who live further away
